Why do foreigners teach English in China?
Teaching in China is something of an adventure. It is a great way to experience the multicultural country with a long history. Your placement could be in any one of China's provinces which has its own local customs, costumes and dialect!
It is the experience of a lifetime. China is an awe-inspiring, friendly, and delightful land. With its beauty and diversity, China is a popular destination for foreigners who wish to make a difference in one corner of the world. You have the chance to learn a new language and lots of dialects, to make friends with Chinese natives, to travel around awesome places of interests. For example, Jeff, a former TAFE NSW teacher, was assigned to the Sino-Australian Technical College in Kaifeng City of Henan Province, which is a very historic city with many interesting landmarks (once being the end of the Silk Road). Jeff found it was an ideal place to work and live in China.
Living expenses are very low, such as 7 RMB for dinner. Accommodation in China is very comfortable. Teachers are able to afford the assistance of a housekeeper in China for around 10 RMB an hour. Many of our Teachers have found that they have more disposable income in China than they did in Australia. A rich social life is also available in China. With free accommodation and good salary, you can take part in a wide range of recreation activities with friends together. Undoubtedly, you will enjoy your life while you experience living and earning life in China. When you return from China, you will be full of precious memories and different experiences.
